ASince Aspiration Apricot Daycare and Adoption is so diversified in its way of working, you'd imagine that I'd get a lot of questions regarding jobs, enrollment, what we do, etc., and you'd be right. Even though this website gives a pretty good idea of what Aspiration Apricot Daycare and Adoption is, here's a few commonly asked questions (and my answers) that will hopefully help you out.
Can I work at Aspiration Apricot Daycare and Adoption?
Answer: Yes, anyone can work. I don't have specific teachers, because I don't want to have to rely on certain people, not knowing if they'll be online or not.
What are the requirements of being a teacher?
Answer: Patience is key. Many of the students are fairly well-behaved, but sometimes things can get out of hand (e.g. trolls) and hell is relinquished. Obviously, I'll be there if you need help with any over-the-top students, but we emphasize manners and respect to all students, new or old. Also, I really like to be in touch with teachers. Please have your private chat open at all times, in case I remind you of something you'd need to teach, possibly regarding an upcoming quiz or test, or about an event that day.
If the teaching job is taken, are there any other jobs I can have?
Answer: You can be a receptionist, which is somebody who signs people in/out and answers any questions about Aspiration Apricot, or a teacher helper, who just helps out the teacher when needed. The helper position can be a bit tricky sometimes, because many teachers want the spotlight during their turn to teach a class and it can stir up some drama, so please try to respect the teacher teaching and their wishes. Private chatting them and asking to be a helper or even co-teach would be ideal. I am considering expanding a little (maybe a playground or nurse's office), so stay tuned for other jobs.
Do I have to enroll?
Answer: No, and it's really not a huge process. Sometimes, people just like to do it at the front desk and sign a fake application. Anyone is welcome to be a student.
What happens if I misbehave? Do you expel or suspend people?
Answer: 90% of people who get locked out of Aspiration Apricot are trolls and I'm sure some of you may think trolls are funny (trust me, I do too sometimes), but some people go to classes there to actually learn and be interactive. If you're a student and are causing drama, usually I'll just pull you aside and let you know that if you do it again, you'll get an in-school suspension, which is basically where you sit in the back and aren't involved in fun activities during field trips) If someone is fighting with a friend, I'll let it slide unless it gets out of hand and disrupts class. I know how emotional fights can be, so I try to let people work them out. It's not my business until it affects people around them. So in conclusion, punishment isn't crazy here. I don't expel.
How do quizzes and tests work?
Answer: Quizzes are taken when the teacher (usually its me when it involves any type of testing, just to make sure things run smoothly) says the question and sometimes gives multiple choices, and you private chat them your answer. Tests are the same way, usually, except they can be on the website if they're important.
How do exams work?
Answer: There is an exam tab on the website that you click. There'll be two parts, usually, and if you get a high grade, you'll be able to make it on the honor roll or principal's list (check calendar for announcement ceremony). You'll receive a study guide, which so many people ignore, that gives all of the answers for the test that you can have access to until the exams start.
When is lunch?
Answer: We have snack time and lunch throughout the day, but lunch occurs usually after about three-four classes.
What are the lockers for?
Answer: You can hang out there during breaks to grab books or just socialize with friends. They're also hotspots for those who just like to lounge around.
Do I have to participate in classes?
Answer: You have the option to opt out of two classes each day (unless its an emergency/you're offline), but if it's an important class that helps with quizzes/tests/exams, you must attend them.
Do you sell baby clothes there?
Answer: Usually, I have some summer cuts in stock that cost less during holidays (e.g. Flay Day - coming sooooooon)
What is your color code?
Answer: I'm not a special snowflake that is the only one with my color code. I'm sure other people have it, but I usually try to keep it quiet, because it is nice having a rare color code.
How do I sign up for extracurricular activities?
Answer: You don't have to. All you need to do is show up for play practices, spelling bees, and try your best to get good grades.
Are field trips safe?
Answer: Yes! We always stay in groups and indulge in the world around us. We have a clean track record of safe and successful field trips.
How do assemblies work/what are they about?
Answer: Sometimes they're for holidays, other times they're to announce upcoming events or go over important things. They occur in the auditorium and last for 15-30 minutes.
